The 12 Bars of Christmas

Tuesday 23 December 2008 at 01:14 am.My sister invited me and a couple friends to participate in the 2nd Annual 12 Bars of Christmas pub crawl. So Jeff, Mal, Katie and myself headed down to beautiful San Diego. It started at 2pm at the Silver Fox, we made it around 2:30. My sister hooked Jeff and myself up with a couple of sweet christmas sweaters. The rule was to have at least one drink per bar and spend no more than an hour at each bar. The first bar was pretty packed, especially during daylight hours. There was probably about 30 of us wearing sweaters and ready to have good times.
PB is a pretty awesome place, with no shortage of bars to choose from. My sister selected the following twelve bars for the crawl.

3. PB Pub
4. Tavern at the Beach
5. Plum Crazy
6. Cabo Cantina
7. Bub's Dive Bar
8. Cass Street Bar & Grill
9. PB Bar & Grill
10. Moondoggies
11. Pacific Beach Shore Club
12. Open Bar
The first bar was cool. Definitely an older hang out. Next was RT's, that place is cool. I'd been there before when there was a cover band playing. PB Pub was definitely of the dive variety. We played a couple games of fooseball and split them 1-1. It was Mal and me versus Jeff and Katie. The next couple were kind of a blur. Cabo Cantina was hella busy. Our favorite bar was bar #7, Bub's Dive Bar. I say next year we do a Bub Crawl and just go to this place. It was sweet. Happy hour pitchers were $6 for premium beers including Pyramid and Blue Moon. They also had $1 tacos, and these were legit tacos! We agreed they were at least worth 4 bucks. It was a steal. I highly recommend Bub's Dive Bar! Cass Street was a little off of Garnett. I was pretty beat by the time we were at that bar. PB Bar and Grill and Moondoggies are right next to each other and are both pretty cool. We danced at both of these places and this pretty much ended the crawl. We headed back to my sister's place at around 1am. There were probably about 10 of us that crashed at my sisters two bedroom apartment. It was a really fun night. I hope that next time we make it through all 12 bars. Thanks Shelley and I hope that we'll see everyone for next years 12 Bar's of Christmas!!!
