Discovering the Library

Tuesday 01 December 2009 at 3:06 pm

Not too long ago I got my library card to the Santa Barbara Public Library. I wasn't ever really much of a reader growing up, meaning I only read when I was required to. I think it's safe to say that I've got the bug now. The library has tons of good stuff, and if it's not at the closest library to you for 50 cents they'll deliver to your home library. Such a good deal! Anyways, I recommend reading to all you out there, especially from the library because it's free (or nearly free) and you don't have to worry about storing the book once your done with it.

Scotch and Cigars

Thursday 29 October 2009 at 5:15 pm

It was been way too long since my last post. And as I’m sure as you can guess, a lot has transpired. I’d like to begin with my recent interest in the finer things in life. I’m talking about Scotch and Cigars.

Adam Corolla on Podcast

Thursday 02 April 2009 at 2:47 pm

I’m not one much for the future. The internets are mostly lost on me. I have to give most (okay, all) of my credit for anything internet or ipod related to my buddy Jeff. That being said, I have recently discovered podcasts.

Living the HiLife

Tuesday 31 March 2009 at 1:46 pm

This past weekend my girlfriend Mal wanted to head up north check out the University of Santa Clara. I hadn’t been to the bay since new years and additionally it was my boy Russo’s birthday weekend so I thought it would be a great time to return. We drove up Friday after work and made it to San Jose by 9. That night we drank some brew dogs and caught up with each other.

Spring Training 2009

Tuesday 17 March 2009 at 1:33 pm

This past weekend Jeff and I headed to Phoenix Arizona to catch some Spring Training Baseball. Being a huge baseball fan, it was kind of amazing that I’d never been to Spring Training before. I’d gotten two pairs of tickets as a Christmas present from my girlfriend. We planned the weekend out and figured we’d drive and leave around noon on Friday and return Monday night after that day’s game.

Los Arroyo's 10 year Anniversary

Tuesday 10 March 2009 at 11:26 am

From March 4th through March 8th it was Los Arroyos 10th year anniversary celebration. Los Arroyos is a very delicious Mexican restaurant in downtown SB. Year after year they are rated in the top 2 salsas in SB. Anyways, when I heard that they would be rolling their prices back to 1999 levels on some menu items I was pretty excited. I began spreading the news to friends, acquaintances, and whoever would listen. At first my housemates and I weren’t sure what the savings would really be. I mean, 1999 wasn’t that long ago, how much would we be saving? When we went on the opening night of the celebration we ordered food for four people and the total was $28. That was a pretty good deal seeing how I’d taken Mal there a couple weeks ago and it was that much for two people. The gist of it, select items were about half off, but still 100% delicious! After that first night, my roommate Jeff D. announced that he would “fully explore” their menu and was planning on eating there everyday until the prices returned to their less favorable 2009 levels. Initially we all laughed at him, but I was down to go along for the ride.

The Mothman Prophecies

Sunday 01 March 2009 at 8:35 pm

Recently one of our kitchen cupboards has been taken over by moths. At first it was kind of funny and a running joke in our house, but now its straight up ridiculous. I'd been keeping a head count but lost track after 30+ confirmed kills. Today, Jeff D and I went extermination on them. We completely emptied the shelves out and found some fucking cocoons. There were little white balls all over the place along with full grown moths swarming. After we sprayed hella simple green and vacuumed any lingering moths and cocoons, I'm feeling we've seen the last of those fuckers. I'll keep you all posted if we find anymore. I guess we all learned a lesson about the cycle of life. Rasin bran becomes maggots, which ultimately become moths. Up next, we need to kill all of those damn silverfish that live in our walls.

Injured hand piece

Wednesday 18 February 2009 at 1:57 pm

I was down in San Diego a couple weekends ago visting my sister. We were having some good San Diego / Pacific Beach times together. We'd just returned from going to a concert in Oceanside (North County). It was a good show, my friends brother was playing in it. They're called Strike Twelve and were opening for the lead singer of Unwritten Law, Scott Russo. In an ominous sign, Scott's house completely burned down two days prior. It was crazy he was even playing the show. So, it was about 1:30 am, and I was hungry. My sister made me a delicious sandwich which I was planning on consuming with a tall glass of diet coke. As I reached to grab the glass, it began to fall. My instincts kick in and I use my ninja like ability to try to catch the glass. As the glass is falling, my left hand is trailing it... I might be a little too slow to catch it in time. Next thing I know, there's an explosion of glass. The pint glass had hit the counter top. I yank my hand away immediately. As the glass shatters I feel it touch my hand. As I turn my hand over to see the damage, then blood begins pouring out of the left index and middle fingers.
